How I’m finally discovering the mental health benefits of exercise

CAMS is proud to support the CAMS MAJACO junior team in 2026, offering a clear pathway for boys and girls to reach the professional ranks. The team’s vision was unveiled on 7th February in Wetherby by managers Giles Pidcock and Ian Mansel-Thomas.

Cycling started as freedom, not performance. From childhood rides in South Yorkshire to Olympic podiums and life beyond elite sport, this is a story about losing structure, rediscovering joy, and finding meaning in giving something back.

In less than three months, Amy and her husband Kyle will set off on an 18,000-mile, self-supported bikepacking journey around the world, aiming to break the record for the fastest couple whilst hoping to raise £100,000 for the mental health charity Shout.

Alex Dowsett retired from professional cycling on his own terms, having achieved everything he could. In this honest reflection, he explores life after elite sport — the freedom, struggles, and new purpose he’s found helping others, staying active, and being present for his family.
